1.     California

California is one of the best places to take your boat during the cold winter months, as you can escape the snow by heading to the coast and dipping your boat in some natural saltwater. There are around 840 miles of coastline from the southern to the northern tip of California, as well as plenty of destinations to dock and explore. Throughout the state, you’ll be able to find some of the country’s best fishing and hiking destinations around. Plus, there is nothing quite like the freedom of boating on the ocean!

2.     Florida

You’re probably not surprised to find Florida on this list, as it is pretty much beautiful and sunny during any time of the year. Go to the southern part of Florida and you’ll almost feel like winter doesn’t really exist. With around 1,350 miles of coastline that wraps around the state from east to west, you’ll have plenty of options for exploring. We recommend heading to Clermont, as you can camp between the many interconnected lakes. If you’re looking for the best place to stay warm this winter, Florida is a solid choice.

3.     Arizona

Arizona is similar to Florida in a lot of ways. The biggest similarity is that it hosts warm to moderate temperatures throughout the year. Go there during the winter and you’ll barely notice the seasons changing. Here you can find over 22 miles of shoreline to explore. The best thing about going to Arizona during the winter is that many of the lakes that are super popular during the spring and summer are far emptier during the winter months. Lake Havasu, for example, is a hugely popular destination for spring breakers from ASU, though, during the winter, it’s a relaxing place to go out with your friends and family for some fishing or water sports.
