Wrigleyville West

The Spring of 2014 in Mesa, Arizona will be a great time for baseball fans! The brand new spring training facility of the Chicago Cubs is schedule to open with a game day field, practice fields, state-of-the-art clubhouse, youth soccer fields and a lake for fishing. The stadium is being built over a former golf course and will have seating for 15,000 baseball fans and is designed similarly to Wrigley Field in Chicago. Birding

The Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve is just a short drive away from Mesa, Arizona! There are more than 300 species migrating, nesting and living here. It’s on every birders bucket list because species such as the Gray hawk, vermilion flycatcher, violet-crowned hummingbird, white-throated sparrows and thick-billed kingbird thrive here throughout the year. It’s an outdoor experience that you and your family will not want to miss!

Park of the Canals

The Hohokam were the first Native American civilization to settle in the Mesa, Arizona area more than 2,000 years ago! During the height of their civilization they designed and built hundreds of miles of intricate irrigation canals. The irrigation system was used to service their agricultural fields. A few of the canals are still used in Phoenix, Arizona!  The Park of the Canals is a great place to visit and witness the intricacy of the Hohokam canals. The park also has a beautiful botanical garden!
