The octopus has captivated mankind for centuries, partly due to its four pairs of arms that can open up jars when motivated by food. The world’s oceans are home to more than 300 amazing species of octopus! Our photo blog this week depicts 10 different octopuses.

 5 Facts Everyone Should Know:

  1. The octopus does not have an internal or external skeletal system
  2. It can only move in forward motions
  3. The octopus is able to easily contract itself to fit into tight spaces
  4. Several species of octopus have chromatophores skin cells to aid them in blending into their surroundings.
  5. There are 3 species of poisonous octopus living in our oceans
