MONTEREY LIFE

A New Jersey Gem

This winter was a brutal one for many of those living up North—snow, sleet, and bone-chilling temperatures persisted longer than normal, and many sought solace in the sunny weather of Florida and other destinations. But as summer draws closer, we can expect a shift in temperatures and in the travel trend, from South-moving snowbirds to a focus on the Northern states and what they have to offer. If you’re looking for a more mild summer retreat, or simply live in the New England area and want to try something new, why not consider taking an Atlantic City boating trip?

For most tourists, this New Jersey city is often linked with its casinos and nightlife. It was even the focus of MTV’s popular reality show “Jersey Shore”! But what many people overlook is Atlantic City’s natural aptness for boat lovers and water recreationalists alike.

Atlantic City—just one part of “The Shore,” as locals like to call it—is home to the Farley State Marina, where boaters can reserve a slip and enjoy a day on the water, and easily make it back to shore in time to visit the area’s famous casinos and dining venues. Farley State Marina is, incidentally, managed by the Golden Nugget gold rush-themed casino.

If you’re just in the mood to get out on the water and go sightseeing, Atlantic City also offers cruises, whale and dolphin watching excursions and other tours. It’s also home to the annual Atlantic City Boat Show, where visitors can take a peek at the year’s latest models.

While you’re there, check out our dealer C-Jam Yachts—it’s just a short drive away in Egg Harbor!

Atlantic City may be known as the gambling capital of the East Coast, but a visit here will show you: that’s not all the area has to offer!
