WILLISTON, FL - In honor of Memorial Day weekend, Monterey Boats held an event to not only remember our veterans, but to reward our employees for the hard work they do on a daily basis, and to remind all of us that we make this company what it is.

When Monterey decides to have a get together, we do it right! A dessert competition, a feast of delicious catered Barbeque, and the entire staff outside kicking back next to our finished products.

It all started with a flyer posted around the office for a Dessert competition to see who could whip up the finest dessert for Monterey’s Memorial event. The applicants had to submit their treat to our judges by 11:00am Friday morning.

In familiar fashion and with some friendly competition, they were on their way. Out of the 17 people that submitted desserts, the 1^st place was clear; the Pineapple Pecan Swirl, by our very own Randy Poole. When asked how the unanimous process went, HR director and judge Michael Biskie said, “All of us just raised our hands, pointed, and said that one!” Judges then came to a conclusion that it was the Mud Pie and a Whipped Cherry Cheesecake for 2^nd and 3^rd place awards.

The festivities kicked off at Noon, where we were greeted by two magnificent rows of an array of catered barbeque. This included but not limited to a homemade baked bean recipe, hearty mac n’ cheese, pulled pork, roast chicken, and the sweetest sight of desserts you could imagine. We would like to give a special thanks to staff and management for all of their service and assistance with making this year’s event run smoother than ever.
