Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

The kids may be out trick-or-treating, but there’s no reason you can’t have some fun this Halloween, too! The 55th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show kicks off Thursday, October 30th and continues throughout Halloween weekend. Here are some of the things to look forward to, in and around the show:

A new location: In July, Show Management announced the addition of a seventh location, Pier 66 Marina, to the already-expansive boat show. The marina will be unveiling brand new renovations including a yacht basin, face dock and accommodations for up to 16 150-feet yachts.

Local boating treasures: Fort Lauderdale is often referred to as the “Yachting Capital of the World,” and for good reason. It’s at a central location, surrounded by the best of Florida boating. Apart from the ocean itself, you can take a cruise through the Intracoastal Waterway, head inland toward the Florida Everglades, or venture south toward Miami or The Keys. No matter what route you take, you’re never far from a great afternoon of boating!

Culinary treats: Tired after a long day of browsing the newest models and marine equipment? Unwind with one of the many dining options around the show! At Bahia Mar Bar and Grille (the Bahia Mar hotel restaurant) you can grab a bite while watching yachts making their way through the water. For a one-of-a-kind treat, check out Hugh’s Culinary pop-up restaurant, up at the Hall of Fame Marina site.

Career fair: If you’re interested in a marine industry career, or just want to learn more about possible jobs and networking, visit the first-of-its-kind career fair at the show! The fair, which starts 10 am opening day at the Broward County Convention Center, will feature over 20 marine industry companies and almost 200 possible jobs to learn more about.

Dealer deals: While much of the country’s boating is starting slow down as cooler weather approaches, South Florida’s boating climate’s just heating up! The show will feature yachts, super yachts and mega yachts, as well as a variety of powerboats and sailboats to browse through. Monterey dealers Bob Hewes Boats and South Florida Yachts will be at this year’s show, so pay them a visit at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, on H Dock slips 823, 825, 827, and 829. We hope to see you there!
