We’re escaping the Florida heat this week and traveling to Portsmouth, Virginia to visit our dealer Bill’s Marine! Portsmouth is a historic waterfront town nestled along mile marker zero of the intracoastal waterway where visitors can explore the town’s rich history, go antiquing, and dine at some of the Northeast’s finest restaurants!

Our first stop is along the “Path of History,” a park dedicated to two of the nation’s oldest Navy facilities, and the Naval Shipyard. The south end of the park is dedicated to the 200 plus year history of Portsmouth’s Naval Shipyard while the north end of the park explores the nation’s first naval hospital. As you’re traveling between the two sides of the park, don’t forget to stop along the way to visit the Pass House and the Hill House.

If you’re an avid antique hunter then you have come to the right place! Portsmouth has several unique antique shops including Shipjack Nautical Wares and Marine Gallery. The gallery has a large selection of maritime antiques, marine art, custom nautical furnishings and accessories.

After you have built up an appetite at the Path of History, and at Portsmouth’s finest antique shops, stop by 757 Crave on the Harbor for a bite to eat. The bar and grill has breathtaking views of the Portsmouth Harbor and serves some of the best comfort food with a twist!

While you’re in Portsmouth, don’t forget to visit our dealer Bill’s Marine! They have been serving the Hampton Roads area since 1987. Bill’s Marine is also a recipient of our “Top 10 Customer Service Award!” What area of Portsmouth will you explore first? Share your answers with us on our Monterey Boats Facebook page!
