Naming your new Monterey is the second best thing about purchasing your new boat. The first, obviously, is that you are now an owner of a Monterey!! Your boat will be a big part of the memories of great times with friends and family; it needs a great name. The name you choose will reflect how others see you, your intellect, your worldliness, and your sense of humor. In some cases, you might be known as your boat name, they won’t remember Jim, but they will remember “Off the Hook.”

Here are a few tips we have to picking a name. When you have selected a name, it should be able to pass the following tests: The explanation test: how often do you have to explain it? The brevity test: repeat it three times, if you were to be calling in a mayday. The “Been There, Done That” test: is it overused?
