Monterey and Blackfin Boats Expands to Meet Consumer Demands

Monterey and Blackfin Boats (Seabring Marine), Williston, FL-With an increase in worldwide consumption and consumer demand, Monterey and Blackfin Boats is announcing a planned expansion project to add an additional 50,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing space and additional production staff which will enable them to significantly increase their production capacity.

As one of the largest boat builders in the world today, Monterey and Blackfin Boats recently added more than 55,000 square footage of manufacturing space to accommodate production needs due to a rise in consumer confidence in the Monterey and Blackfin product line. Due to the more recent increase in worldwide consumption and consumer demand, an additional need has risen for an even greater increase in expanded manufacturing capabilities.

To accommodate this demand, and assist in replenishing inventory in the field, the Monterey and Blackfin Boats manufacturing facilities will be increased by an additional 50,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing space bringing the current footprint to 485,000 square feet.  An additional 150 jobs will also be added over the next several months. Currently, Monterey and Blackfin Boats employs more than 500 employees; the additional staff will bring the total of highly skilled production staff within the Monterey and Blackfin facilities to 675 and will allow Monterey and Blackfin Boats to further increase production capabilities.

According to Charles Marshall, Co-Chairman of Monterey and Blackfin Boats, “We feel the increase in manufacturing space and skilled staff will allow us to increase the production capacity we need in order to meet consumer demand for the next two years, while also providing us with the ability to continue to develop, design and introduce new models. This will also provide us with the ability to continue to satisfy our dealer/partners needs while continuing to grow and expand our market share.”

“Monterey and Blackfin Boats have seen substantial growth in the last 2 years and will see continued growth in the future with new stern drive and outboard models. In addition to our continued growth in North America, we expect accelerated growth in our international markets, especially in the countries of the EU.  The 25% tariff on U.S. Boats exported to the EU is scheduled to end in the near future, and will fuel an immediate surge in our EU boat sales.” Said Robert Pita, President of Monterey and Blackfin Boats. “Monterey and Blackfin Boats have continued to grow and expand our worldwide dealer network as well, which also allows us to better meet our customer’s needs.”
