We’re traveling to sunny Fort Walton Beach for this week’s dealer destination! Fort Walton Beach is located on Florida’s Emerald Coast and is known for its world class fishing and beaches. Hop on your Monterey and follow us as we head to our next beautiful dealer destination and don’t forget to pack the sunscreen.

Fort Walton Beach is the perfect location for family vacations. There is a little something for everyone in the family.

Our first stop is the Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin Air Force Base in the heart of the Florida panhandle. The museum has more than 25 breathtaking aircraft and historical armament dating from World War I to present day. A few planes on display are the famous B-17 World War II bomber, the F-4 Phantom II Jet and the incredible SR-71 Blackbird. The SR-71 Blackbird is the fastest plane ever built and can travel from New York City to London in under 2 hours. The plane was built by Lockhead Skunk Works during the 1960’s and served with the U.S. Air Force until 1998.

A morning spent at the Air Force Armament Museum will build up an appetite! Check out local hot spot, Stewby’s Seafood Shanty! You’ll get generous portions at modest prices! Locals recommend the Stewby’s platter, created with oysters, amberjack, shrimp, cheese grits, okra, coleslaw and hushpuppies. You will not leave hungry!

Finish the afternoon at the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park, a local favorite since 1955.  Dolphins, penguins and sea lions are just a few of the animals you will find flipping around this small adventure park. For a small additional fee you can swim with the dolphins, feed the penguins and sea turtles and then kiss the seals! We recommend bringing clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet in. After you’re done playing with these adorable marine creatures, catch them in their own shows! The sea lions and the dolphins perform for audiences of all ages throughout the day. If you are feeling adventurous you can hop in the water and snorkel with stingrays and sharks!

After you leave the park, travel back to the hotel to shower and change for an extraordinary dinner at Fort Walton Beach’s locally owned, Sealand!  The restaurant may appear plain on the outside but is boasting with culinary flavor inside. We recommend ordering a fresh catch of the day or a mouthwatering steak! The restaurant also has a great early bird special for $12.95.

If you still have energy after dinner, play a few rounds of miniature golf at Goofy Golf! The miniature golf course has been in operation since 1958 and is incredibly charming. There are two courses with 17 holes each that share a final 18^th hole that ends in the “Snakes Mouth.”
