It’s time for our next Dealer Spotlight! Pack your bags and grab your passports as we travel to Calgary, Canada in the province of Alberta to visit Monterey Boats dealer Renfrew Sports.

Before we get started lets learn a few basic facts about this great city in Alberta, Canada! Calgary made world history when they were chosen as the first Canadian Olympic Winter Games host city in 1988! The games were a huge success and their location is still a source of immense tourism for the city.

Other than tourism, the city’s’ economic activity is supported by petroleum and agricultural industries.

Not sure where to visit in the “Heart of the New West?”

Our first must see site is the location of the historic 1988 Olympic Winter Games! The Calgary Olympic Park served as the main location for ski jumping, bobsleighing and the luge in the 1988 Winter Olympics. Athletes who compete competitively in these sports can still train at the facilities. If you’re visiting the park during the Spring or Summer season, rent or bring a mountain bike to enjoy 16 miles of scenic biking trails. If you’re not afraid of heights, we recommend traveling through the parks zip lining course!

Complete your morning at the Calgary Tower, standing 626 feet above Downtown Calgary! The tower was built in 1967 by Marathon Realty Company Limited and Husky Oil. Prior to 1971, it was known as the Husky Tower.

On the North side of the tower visitors can travel up to the glass floor extension if they dare and observe breath taking views of downtown Calgary.

If you’re hungry while visiting the tower, remember to dine in Sky 360, a revolving restaurant located at the top of the tower.

If dining at 626 feet above Downtown Calgary does not sound appetizing, there are several favorable restaurants in the city.

“The Lonely Planet” comes highly recommended by Calgary locals. The restaurant prides itself on fish and free-range game entrees that are all created fresh with locally grown and organic ingredients! A Calgary Fast Forward Weekly food critic labeled the restaurant as one of the “crown jewels in the Calgary restaurant scene!” The River Café can be found in the Southwest section of Prince’s Island Park.

That concludes this week’s Dealer Destination! Have a wonderful time visiting beautiful Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Remember to visit our Monterey Boats dealer Renfrew Sports to see and possibly take a spin in one of our beautiful Monterey Boats!
